Opportunities
Queries where you could be cited but are not.
An opportunity is a tracked query where competitors are cited but you are not, or where no credible source is cited at all. Each one is a concrete, rankable gap you can close with content.
Working them
After a scan, open the review modal and pick opportunities one at a time or queue several at once. Picking one sends it to your article queue, where it becomes a generated article aimed at that gap.
Already covered
Sometimes an opportunity is a topic you have already published an article for. When that happens the opportunity is grouped under Already covered rather than shown as a new-article gap. These rows have no queue action; each one links straight to your existing article so you can strengthen it instead of writing a duplicate. This is about avoiding duplicate work, not a judgment on whether the article has been cited yet.
When an article gets cited
Once an engine cites an article you published, that article shows a Cited by AI badge in your content pipeline, and the query it covers shows a Cited badge in Monitored queries. A Covered badge on a query means you have a published article for it that has not earned a citation yet.
A note on counts
Ranking is engine-aware: Perplexity returns more citations than ChatGPT or Gemini, so raw counts across engines are not directly comparable. We account for that in how opportunities are ranked.
